Heading in a new direction

I have some exciting news to share, and then I have some not-so-exciting news to share.

I am thrilled to announce that Bisousweet Confections will soon be relocating to a new home – Two Shaker Road in Shirley. We signed the lease two weeks ago, finalized the kitchen design and are in the infant stages of permitting. If all goes according to plan (ha), the space should be ready for us in March.

That’s the good news.

The not so good news breaks my heart: From now until further notice, I am no longer going to take private/custom orders.

There is nothing that I love more than connecting with my customers and being able to help them with whatever they’re facing…planning a birthday party, hosting Thanksgiving dinner, a wedding, a baby shower, a funeral. Private orders have allowed me a chance to get to know so many people and be a part of their lives in a small but hopefully meaningful way.

Private orders are so much fun for me too…no two events are ever the same, and the challenge of meeting someone’s expectations makes the work that much more stressful but ultimately fulfilling in a way that I don’t necessarily get by scooping cookies. I care deeply about everything that leaves this kitchen with the Bisousweet name on it, and cakes/private orders top that list.

All that said, I have realized that I no longer have the time to put into these special orders, and instead of trying to find a short-cut, I have decided to take a break.

In a nutshell, what this means is that I am temporarily going to do my best to ‘help’ everyone and their sugar needs by either directing them to where they can buy my treats in the real world or by connecting you with someone who may be able to help you.

Will we be making Thanksgiving pies? Absolutely.
Will you be able to order them directly from me? Unfortunately, not this year.
Can I tell you where to find our pies? Happy to.
Can we still send out your corporate gifts/personal gifts for the holidays? Yes, we can – love sending sugar in the mail.
What about the order you already placed with me? I am absolutely making every dessert/cake/pie that I have already committed to making…no need to worry about that.
Will I let you know when we’re ready to return to ‘business as usual’? YES!

I appreciate your patience with me as I temporarily walk down this very different path.

You know that friend who has it all together? Yeah. That’s not me. What I can offer you instead are my experiences, insights, and passions. Pithy observations about making cookies. Wry commentary on running a business. Loving (if slightly sarcastic) parenting advice. And if that doesn’t interest you, I have dogs. Cute ones.
