Legoman…meet Lego Lady

I would like to start by apologizing for not blogging for a while.  I don’t have a great excuse…just busy/slightly overwhelmed/kinda unmotivated in wordland.  Anyway, the good news is that I’m back and I have some fun things to share.

One fun project I had this weekend was to make decorated LegoMan and LegoLady Cookies.  I have an entire bureau at work that is overflowing filled with cookie cutters, but LegoMan and LegoLady cutters are not part of my collection.  Fortunately, my client brought her own cutters when she stopped by the bakery to place her order.  Here are pictures that will help describe the cookie decorating process.

Let’s start with a slightly dark picture of the naked LegoPeople…

Next, time to whip up a batch of royal icing…

And, let’s add some lemon yellow food coloring

I start by outlining Mr. LegoMan’s Head, and then move onto his crab-like…hands.

I then thin out the royal icing a bit and fill in the heads & ‘hands’

When in doubt, Mr. LegoMan looks better in pants.

And…a shirt too.

The LegoLadies decided to wear a purple skirt, and are waiting for their pink sweaters

The finished LegoMen…Decorated with a #5 in honor of the birthday boy.

The LegoLadies, complete with earrings, a necklace and a ribbon belt.

 Happy 5th Birthday Nathan!!!

You know that friend who has it all together? Yeah. That’s not me. What I can offer you instead are my experiences, insights, and passions. Pithy observations about making cookies. Wry commentary on running a business. Loving (if slightly sarcastic) parenting advice. And if that doesn’t interest you, I have dogs. Cute ones.
