For everyone who has served to protect our country, we cannot thank you enough.
My connection to veterans changed in 2015.
It was the year that my son cycled across the country with a group of fellow classmates to raise money for Ride 2 Recovery, an organization committed to helping wounded veterans heal by connecting them with cycling.
It was the year I spent working with these kids, helping them plan and prepare for their long journey.
It was the summer these kids cycled six days a week and rode 3,400 miles in 48 days.
It was the summer that veterans and small communities across America came out to support the kids.
Those towns. These people. The dedication. The pride. The mutual respect.
By the end of the summer, these teenagers raised $125,000 for Ride 2 Recovery.
My deepest gratitude to all veterans.
