Happy National Boss Day!

October 16th is one of my favorite days. National Boss Day. A day to stop and appreciate the glory of being ‘the boss’.

Being the boss means having the opportunity to solve pressing issues like cracked ganache

and leaky air hoses.

It’s a day when I appreciate keeping these dish washing gloves in stock, because being the boss inevitably involves dish washing at some point during the week.

It’s when I get to be made fun of for actually owning…and wearing…a down skirt.

Bosses take inventory and really enjoy it.

It’s also a day when I can take a minute to think back to the beginning.

When I baked in my house.

When I was babycakes.

When I wrote each label by hand.

Sitting next to the real boss…pretending to understand what he’s saying.

Here’s the thing…

This day isn’t really about me. It’s about everyone I work with who makes my job awesome.

Thank you Team Bisousweet for keeping work fun!

You know that friend who has it all together? Yeah. That’s not me. What I can offer you instead are my experiences, insights, and passions. Pithy observations about making cookies. Wry commentary on running a business. Loving (if slightly sarcastic) parenting advice. And if that doesn’t interest you, I have dogs. Cute ones.
